Passport Validity
Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in Peru.

Visa Requirements
No visa is required for U.S. citizens. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with the Peruvian embassy in your country for entry requirements.

Health Precautions
Consult your doctor regarding altitude sickness, especially for Cusco and Machu Picchu.

• Drink lots of water

• Avoid alcohol on Day 1

• Coca tea is commonly offered to help

• Shortness of breath is normal — take it slow

• Consider bringing or speaking to your doctor about Diamox as a precaution

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, baggage loss, and personal liability.

Tipping Guidelines

We’ve simplified tipping by providing the following suggested amounts per person for the full 7-day trip:

• Main Guide (throughout the trip): $84

• Guardian Angel (arrival to departure): $48

• Drivers (all services): $14

• Total Suggested Tip: $150 per person

Tips may be collected in person or pooled by OmniVentures leadership to distribute directly.

WhatsApp Group:
A dedicated WhatsApp group will be created before departure, connecting you with the tour leaders, your local guides, and our Guardian Angel for fast and reliable communication.

Note: While Discord is our main group platform, our on-the-ground team will use WhatsApp for logistics, as it’s the preferred and most accessible method for the local team.

Packing Guidelines for Machu Picchu

Per train regulations, guests should plan to bring:

• One small carry-on or backpack (max 20 lbs / 9 kg) to Machu Picchu

• Main luggage will be securely stored and transferred to your Cusco hotel

• OmniVentures will provide luggage tags for all bags to ensure seamless handling

Oxygen Availability

While the elevation in Cusco and the Sacred Valley may cause altitude discomfort for some guests, supplemental oxygen is available at key points:

• Tambo del Inka (Sacred Valley):

  • Rooms are not oxygenated.

  • Complimentary oxygen tanks available at reception or in-room (10–15 min).

  • Extended in-room use: $25 per session

• Palacio del Inka (Cusco):

  • Ambient oxygen can be added to rooms for $25

  • Complimentary 10–15 minute oxygen available at reception

We recommend discussing any altitude-related concerns with your physician prior to travel.

Medical Preparation

• Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol upon arrival

• Consider medications like Diamox for altitude prevention

• Bring any necessary prescriptions and personal medical supplies
