Disembark in the afternoon and journey to Kyoto for an evening unlike any other. Walk beneath the thousands of vermilion torii gates winding up the mountainside at Fushimi Inari Taisha as the light begins to fade. Slip into a rented kimono for an evening stroll through Gion, Kyoto's historic geisha district, where the lantern-lit streets truly come alive after dark. Close the night in Pontocho Alley, a narrow, lantern-strung lane along the Kamo River — one of Kyoto's most atmospheric dining destinations, where you're free to choose your own restaurant for dinner — before returning to the ship.

Disembark early in Osaka and journey to Kyoto for a full day among its most iconic temples and gardens. Begin walking through the towering, otherworldly stalks of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, then visit Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, shimmering above its reflecting pond — one of Japan's most photographed landmarks.
